Terms and Conditions for Studio 88 Mix on the Move: Next Gen Competition
By participating in the "Studio 88 Mix on the Move: Next Gen" competition, presented in partnership with Soul Candi, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
- This competition is open to aspiring music producers, DJs, and artists residing in South Africa only.
- Participants must be 18 years or older.
- No DJ mixes will be accepted.
- One entry per participant.
2. Submission Requirements
- Participants must submit an original 2-minute track via www.soulcandi.co.za/studio88 and share their submission across TikTok, X, or Facebook, tagging @studio88.
- The demo track must be in MP3 or WAV format and no larger than 30MB.
- The image must be in JPEG or PNG format and no larger than 5MB.
- All submissions must be received by the closing date. Late entries will not be considered.
3. Selection Process
- A panel of esteemed mentors will review all eligible submissions.
- The top 10 entries will be selected based on creativity, originality, and potential.
4. Prizes
- Winners will receive a prize package that includes collaboration opportunities, cash prizes, exposure, and more. Details of the prize package can be found in the “What You Could Win” section.
5. Important Dates
- Demo Submission Opens: Wednesday, 29 August 2024
- Demo Submission Close: Wednesday, 12 September 2024
- Top 10 Announcement: Monday, 17 September 2024
- Top 10 Public Voting Opens: Tuesday, 18 September 2024
- Public Voting Closes: Sunday, 22 September 2024
- Final Decision and Winner Announcement: Thursday, 26 September 2024
6. Public Voting
- The public will have the opportunity to vote and have their say on the top 10 entries. Details on how to participate in the public voting will be provided closer to the voting period.
7. Ownership and Rights
- By entering the competition, you grant Studio 88 and Soul Candi a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your demo track and image for promotional purposes related to the competition.
- You retain ownership of your submission, but Studio 88 and Soul Candi may use your content as described without further compensation.
8. Winner Notification and Prize Collection
- Winners will be contacted via the contact details provided in their entry form.
- Winners must collect their prize from a pre-agreed Studio 88 store.
- Winners must present their ID, driver’s license, or passport when collecting their prize.
- The prize must be redeemed in one event and cannot be split or transferred to another person.
9. Disqualification
- Studio 88 and Soul Candi reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms and conditions or submits inappropriate content.
10. Liability
- Studio 88 and Soul Candi are not responsible for any technical issues, lost or delayed entries, or any other problems that may affect the submission or judging process.
11. Changes and Cancellation
- Studio 88 and Soul Candi reserve the right to modify or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice.
12. Publicity and Privacy
- By entering the competition, participants agree to have their name, image, and submission used for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
- Entrants' details will be captured upon entry, including name, contact details, and social media handles. These details will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
13. Governing Law
- These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or in connection with the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
